CONNECTING TO 240V POWER
MURRAY BRIDGE
CONNECTING TO 240V
We have recently added 240v power points to some of the storage shed bays (below).
If fitted, this option allows you to plug in a specified battery charger, at a cost of $2PW as per conditions below.
We supply 240v power for about 2 days each week to the undercover bays for the purpose of top up charging / maintenance for caravan / boat batteries with specified chargers as outlined below.
You cannot plug your caravan directly into the power point or you will be dissconnected.
Why can't I just plug my van in?
Caravan and Boat Storage facilities are generally only exposed to fire risk when battery chargers or electrical applicances are in use. We have no idea on clients charger size, condition of the caravan electrics, battery sizing, type, ages or condition. (Or what they accidently left plugged in and on!) Hence we have set up easy protocols to help minimise any risk to our storage clients.
We have seen heaters, gas hot water services and chargers start sparking when connected to power, hence our stipulations.
If you are connected to power, then your battery should easily top up or maintain weekly with the specified chargers outline below.
Easy Connection
CHARGER to BATTERY
To plug into a undercover storage bay power point, you must use either a VICTRON 5AMP or VICTRON 7AMP charger. These chargers come with pre-made wiring looms for easy connection to your battery. (Alligator clips or rings) The victron chargers are connectable via bluetooth on your phone. Please name the charger with your bay number EG: (UC15) and password 123456.
This way, not only will you keep your batteries at 100%, but we can also help keep an eye on your batteries and alert you if any charging issues or your battery needs more power. The Victron chargers are far superior and cost effective in this environment. *
As above: Please do not plug in larger chargers, or different brands, as you will be dissconnected. Power has been calculated for maximum current distribution / load across all bays.
You can buy these chargers anywhere or maybe you have one already?
We are very happy to help set them up with you once on site.
Of course you don't have to connect to our 240V, some clients are getting plenty of solar
charge through the roof skylights or via a small panel out the front of a bay. (100w ideal)
It just depends on how your solar system is set up.
Photographic proof of your connection or sighting by a storage manager needs to happen,
prior to power connection and supply.
Please remember:
You cannot plug your caravan directly into the power point and
You must use the specified chargers or you will be disconnected.
All external leads must be tagged and tested (by law) each 12 months, kept neat and trip free.
If you need any help, please let us know!
*We make no garantee to monitor specfic vehicles at anytime. Clients use 240v power at their own risk.
